Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Claire and Dan’s wedding day in Northampton. They got married at the Guildhall in the amazing Great Hall, followed by a reception at the Saints Rugby Club. Clarie and Dan saw me in action at their friend’s wedding last year and liked my ‘normal’ approach and ‘normal’ looking non-cheesy images :) I take that as a compliment!
I first met Claire properly when she arrived on the wedding bus outside the Guildhall looking amazing and smiley, hence the hello wave! Although I’d love to say the barriers were in place for crowd control at the wedding, there was actually a carnival coming through the town centre in the afternoon, this meant Claire and Dan had to rejig their wedding day somewhat and just brought the time forward. This meant we had time in the afternoon to take a trip to their favourite local park and see the ducks. They’d also arranged for a local ice cream van to come visit, with everyone getting a token for an ice cream. Absolutely fab idea :)
We were extremely lucky with the weather, with only a very brief shower and as we were heading onwards to the Saints Rugby Club all was good. I made use of the bus as much as possible, it always makes a great backdrop for group photos to add a splash of colour to the images. The staff at the rugby club were lovely, and after some rather amusing speeches everyone got down to some throwing some serious shapes on the dancefloor.
A brilliant and relaxed wedding day, just how it should be, thanks guys for entrusting me with your big day. A big thanks to Olivia who came along to give me a hand at the ceremony and park :)
