Black background horse photography, what is it?
Black background sessions are where a horse is positioned just within a barn entrance or overhang area, and I create some magic! The natural lighting that this positioning provides cannot be mimicked in the open. For these sessions, you must have access to something with an overhang, a school entrance, barn entrance, covered stabling area etc. If in any doubt, you can send me photos to see if what you have is suitable. We don’t need much space, just somewhere that a horse can fit. It doesn’t matter what is behind in that space as that can be taken care of in the edit phase.
How much is a photoshoot session and how do I book?
Black background sessions are £59 and available within 20 miles of Southfleet, Kent. (Additional travel time & mileage fees apply to sessions beyond Kent, please ask for a quotation.) You must be able to be flexible with the weather, as these cannot take place in bright harsh sun nor heavy rain. Anything else is fine!
How do I choose and order products after my session?
Your final gallery is ready for viewing in the week after your session. This gallery will contain lightly edited images, not the finished product.
How much are additional products?
Gorgeous finished products are available to you after; beautiful frames, acrylics, print boxes, and albums.
What about the weather on our photoshoot?
My most used phone app is the weather one! A lot of effort goes into making sure these photoshoots happen at the right time for optimum results. I really appreciate it if you can keep flexibility in mind, I always have the horses/ponies best interests at heart and standing around in searing heat with flies doesn’t make for a great time, nor does heavy rain. I’ll keep a very close eye on weather forecasts and will speak to you a few days in advance of your photoshoot to confirm timings.
